I'm on low carb/keto. Anything you'd add/replace/remove?

Entree- garlic/paprika/butter prawns

Main- roast beef
- mashed cauliflower
- yorkshire puddings (not keto, I know)
- green beans
- roast radishes (instead of potatoes)
- carrots
- edamame beans (instead of peas)
- brussel sprouts

Dessert- keto trifle

Roast celeriac instead of radishes (just because it’s much, much nicer imo).

Don’t think you need the edemame beans (unless you’re particularly keen on them).

@Ninkanink- I've usually had celeriac mashed or raw, so might give roasting a try. True about the edamame. thanks.

If you like celeriac then I’m sure you’ll like it roasted! Smile just chop it into big chunks and roast like you would with potatoes. It’s very good with beef.

I’d ditch the edamame beans and switch the cauli for celeriac but that is just down to taste. The meal sounds delicious, any room for a small one?!

Mind if I was being a piggy I’d have celeriac mash AND roasted cauliflower. The veg are the best part of a roast for me and I always have loads of them!

Roast radishes?
I'd leave them and the edamame beans out, they don't sound nice with a roast at all.

Mashed cauliflower doesn't sound that great to me - I'd rather just have it steamed.

And where are the roast potatoes (for everyone else obvs)?

I'd go for a big flat roasted Portobello style mushroom in place of the green beans - gives you a nice meaty texture

@willowpatterns- We are on a keto diet as mentioned in the OP. Cauli mash is actually very nice, and I'd hardly noticed it wasn't potato now. Might do a few roast potato, but didn't want to buy a whole bag just for our guest.

Thanks for the replies.

My MIL does roast celeriac with fennel seeds which is lovely and you can tailor the amount of fennel to your taste. It also makes a really tasty fish/cottage pie topping x

I'm keto too and also cooking a roast for 5 maybe 6 today!

We aren't having a starter but are having:
Roast Chicken,
cauliflower mash,
carrot and swede mash (for my Dad)
Brussels,
Broccoli
Roasted parsnips and roasted radishes

And Keto blueberry cheesecake for dessert.

I think your sides sound plenty.

Celeriac dauphinoise
Fabulous!
I'm far happier with a load of veggies / sides than the actual meat/York's

Ditch the sprouts?? No no no. Cooked well, and swimming in butter, they are absolutely delicious!

Celeriac dauphinois is definitely a good shout. But a little more work, I guess.

If you want a lovely fresh accompaniment to the beef you could make a celeriac remoulade as well. I love it with beef! It wouldn’t be strictly keto but you could alternatively do a red cabbage and celeriac coleslaw - we make ours with red cabbage, celeriac, carrot, apple, and shallots, plus parsley and crème fraîche dressing.

Keto Yorkshires are delicious and really easy! 60mls cream, 8g arrowroot and an egg. Makes 6

Also, I love Yorkshire puddings. I really want some now!!
