6 kids to feed and one of them comes in from work at 6 and the hubby can come in from work anytime between 5 and 8.
Meals we have.

Burgers/chicken nuggets/ fish with chips
Pasta with sausage or creamy chicken and bacon.
Stir fry

Please help.

Think the main problem is the husband who has a go at you, to be honest, not the range of meals!

Home made soups
Peri peri chicken with chips /rice
Home made breadcrumbed fish
Add fish to a Mac Cheese if he won’t eat veggie - though personally I would insist on at least one veggie night a week.
Chicken Kiev

BBC Good Food is a great website for recipe ideas. And I can recommend Mary Berry Quick Meals book, we use it a lot in our house.

How about he cooks one of these magical different meals that also appeals to everyone's tastes and isn't too onerous for a large family, if he's so quick to complain?

Bunnylady54 Mon 02-Mar-20 23:00:59

Agree about your husband OP - tell him to bloody cook!

APurpleSquirrel Tue 03-Mar-20 09:04:56

@AtleastitsnotMonday Hoppin John is a rice & bean dish made with ham hock - popular in the southern states of America. It's really nice!

Well, you learn something new everyday!

livvymc Tue 03-Mar-20 23:37:35

How bloody rude of him!! I’d be telling him to sod off and that if your meals aren’t good enough or exciting enough, he can bloody well cook for himself! I’m angry for you OP, you’ve got enough to deal with cooking for 6 children, never mind a 7th.
FWIW, these are our family favourites:
Roast dinner
Shepards pie
Spaghetti bolognese
Fajitas/crispy chicken wraps
Beef/lamb/chicken burgers
Chinese chicken curry
Gammon, egg and chips
Chicken thighs with garlic roasted veg
Pork/lamb chops with mash or new pots and veg
Braised steak in gravy with mash and minted peas

I look at both gousto and hello fresh menus weekly and copy their recipes if I fancy themand 5 old favorites. We try to stick to 2 new recipes a week.

Why not try joining a fb group I'm a member of a fab one called food lovers forum one and get so many ideas x

Wtf is wrong with you @Lynda07? The OP was asking for meal suggestions, not commentary on whether her English is correct. biscuit
