Not sure if I should be posting this here or in the home & garden section but here goes.

I’m at a loss for how to store spices in my new kitchen. I’ve a drawer set aside for the purpose but am stumped by what to store them in, how to organise them etc. Help!

Pics and links to products especially appreciated!

No pic, but i only buy Sainsbury's herbs and spices as they fit upright in the drawer and have the bame on the lid. I have them all corralled in a square plastic container that some fruit or veg came in - it gets swapped out when too grubby and i find a new one.

@BlueCowWonders @NoMorePoliticsPlease Great suggestion but I’ve just checked and my drawer is about half a cm shorter than the Sainsbury’s jars 🤦‍♀️

Oh FGS! A spice drawer! That's the answer. For 30 years I've had them in a cupboard (like my mother did for 30 years before that) which doesn't work at all well.

I also lay the swartz ones down

I have a rack just screwed on the inside of a cupboard, all organised alphabetically Grin

I had one of those for a while Rose, but after a time the weight kept making the hinges drop so the door didn't close. They can be adjusted but it wasn't long before it happened again.

Here's mine. Lots of spice jars are too tall so I decant them into my old ones.

I’ve got three plastic drawer organisers from Ikea; think they were a couple of squid each. They’re great as they have non slip bases and hold the spice bottles in place really well.

My rack is inside a pantry cupboard. I sort mine by Italian-type seasoning, baking and spicy.

I have one of these from Ikea For all my spices, oils, non-refrigerated condiments and also cling film/tin foil/ziplocks etc.

Top level is oils, condiments and spices currently/regularly in use.

Middle level is replacement items for top level when they run out (I get through a lot so keep a back up supply of certain things) as well as rarely used spices.

Bottom level is the bags and wraps.

I wheel it to wherever I need it in the kitchen.

I love it

It’s not pretty but I find it easier to have lots of different jars - then I know at a glace what things are. I have built up the jars over the years and now bulk buy spices and decant them. It saves a fortune

Mine are all in old jam jars etc. Those tiny pots are horrendously expensive way to buy spices. Go to an Asian grocer and they’re so much cheaper but come in plastic bags that don’t reseal.

Mine is more of a spice cabinet. Rescued from a skip and built into the kitchen!

I got these on ebay for camping, they're a bit bigger than a tic tac box, so would probably fit in a drawer quite well.

Yep, serious spice rack envy @Weedsnseeds1!

Thanks everyone. I think I need something like @MaisyMary77’s system...

We also have the Ikea spice racks like MaisyMary but cut them to size to display jars vertically.

I just emptied out a kitchen drawer and now buy a tesco herbs and spices as they stand up and are labelled on the lid (must check out Sainsburys too). If I ever buy Schwartz seasonings by mistake or because only they do what I’m after it’s really annoying and they have to lie down in a plastic basket in the same drawer. Doesn’t look amazing but it’s much better than when they were crammed in the cupboard and at least I can see what I have so I no longer have 5 bottles of one thing which used to happen all the time.

I have 3 of these revolving spice racks, can't post pic :-

They are brilliant, they come with bottles, but a lot of brands fit in without decanting.

My kitchen is tall and deep but the shelves in the cupboards are glass so I put labels on the underside of the reusd old jam jars so I can see from under the shelves. Which are then refilled with the bulk bags from the asian supermarkets. Some of the jars I've etched the labels on with a dremel and some are just stickers. I'll get round to finishing the etching on them all eventually.
