Hi, dd is fully weaned however she has bouts of being really hungry a couple of hours after main meals so I want to give her some snacks. Can you please advise what snacks I can pack for when she goes to Childminder and for when we are at home. XXXX

I give any of the following:

Breadsticks
Small lump of cheese
Organix rice cakes (come in orange or apple flavour)
Slice of fruit toast (not very portable though)
Couple of melba toast slices with jam or philadelphia on
Raisins
Fruit puree pot
Organix gingerbread man biscuit (as a treat occasionally)
Dry cheerios

Hope this list helps

fruit
bits of cheese
oatcakes
raisins
bread sticks
cheese straws and or biscuits (home made better as less salt)
malt loaf + butter
crisp bread and philly

when at home you can share things like a crumpet or toast and butter
or even cakes and biscuits

problem is that the healthier snacks are more likely to affect dds appetite for main meals but you will probably have to see how it goes.

Hi, thanks to you all for replying so quick. I have only just found this site, I wish I had when I had 1st had my dd. Also, at what age do you start trying to get you little ones to feed themselves, as thinking of decorating lounge but now thinking against it!!!!!!!!!

Would like to add Humzingers to the list. They are pulped fruit sticks that come in loads of different flavours. You normally find them in the same aisle as fruit winders.

small cereal bars
did someone say breadsticks?
organix carrot cake bars
yoghurt coated fruit drops (with dried fruit stuff)
Tried school bars but dd found them too tough at that age.
