Merchant Gourmet ready-to-eat lentils in a foil pouch from Waitrose (have seen them in Morrisons though) - fantastic things! Stirred them in to pasta with peas and sweetcorn, cold on a 'salad' of grated carrot, cheese and mayonnaise.
Even my DH likes them and he hates all things beanie.

But do beware:

Beans and other pulse vegetables - such as kidney beans, lentils and chick peas - count only once a day in the five a day, however much you eat. While pulses contain fibre, they don't give the same mixture of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients as fruit and vegetables.

Eh? Dd likes lentils anyway, without the poncy pouch

We have them in curry, soup, and some pasta dishes.
