I've just roasted a chicken with the pad still under it from the packaging

... and some of it has already been eaten before I noticed. Should I serve up the rest or bin it? Will we be ok? DP is out - he would probably eat it anyway. But I am worried! Help please?

Yeah, I've done this. Just throw the pad away and don't say anything.

Thanks Ladies. I'm sure I've done it before with beef too - just not in my current paranoid state. So far I feel fine and dd is fine, apart from worrying for the last hour.

If I remember rightly, our turkey crown at Christmas had the express instruction to leave the pad under the joint during cooking. On that basis, I can't imagine you'll come to any harm.
