Has anyone found fortified porridge oats or oat cereal?

I can’t buy normal sliced bread due to allergies so breakfast cereals have been a good source of vitamins, being fortified.

Waitrose seem to have discontinued their rice and wheat flakes which I liked, could eat (no allergens for me) and were fortified.

I’ve been searching for a replacement multigrain flakes cereal (and actually would like one with oats in it) and the only ones I’ve found that aren’t too sweet tasting aren’t fortified.

I wish I could find fortified porridge oats but have googled to no avail.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I can’t stand the texture of readybrek which is what DD has for breakfast (on the direction of her dietitian as DD has allergies which mean she needs fortified breakfast cereal).

I know the easy answer is to take a multivitamin but my allergies preclude a lot of them as they’re bound with legume products that I’m allergic to; also a multivitamin is yet another thing to remember to do.

What are you allergic to?

Oatibix flakes?

I’m very allergic to all nuts, all legumes including soya.

Also mildly allergic or intolerant to various gums, palm fats, liquorice, sunflower seeds, xantham, monodiglyrceride... (not sure what’s in this but there’s something).

Why not just have Weetabix then? Or Oatibix flakes with hot milk

Thank you. I’ll give Oatibix flakes a go.

I’m not a fan of weetabix as I like a bit more texture. Also I’d rather my breakfast cereal isn’t wheat based (otherwise I’d just have shreddies).

DD likes oatibix flakes too. They're definitely fortified (I think niacin, biotin, thiamin...same as normal breakfast cereals)
I still prefer porridge though smile

And I take a vitamin!

Rice milk? Oat milk? Coconut milk? Most of them are fortified with extra calcium, vitamin D and B12.

Tesco’s do fortified rice and wheat flakes

INeedNewShoes Wed 29-Jan-20 13:21:50

Thanks. I’ll try the Tesco flakes too!

I don’t want to switch my milk because I have osteopenia and have been advised to have dairy as part of my diet. I also enjoy it far more than the dairy replacement drinks (which I’m very familiar with as dairy allergic DD has them).

How about this? I know not great with the chocolate in it, but it looks like the ingredients would be ok.

I'm sure the Oomf protein porridge pots are fortified as well.

Would oat Cheerios be any good? Not the most filling thing though.
