As a child I had an usborne cookbook which had recipes for eggy bread and cakes. We have one but it is only baking, the cakes don’t even work that well and not child appropriate - mocha cake anyone?
Any recommendations? Looking for 6year old DD.

The dorling kindersly one is good, with pictures. I think the best recipes when I was little though were the ones my mum took from normal recipe books (Delia etc) and typed out/ simplified in big font for us. We collected them in a folder and I even took them to uni with me - a set of comforting, familiar dishes that I knew how to make

The I Can Cook books, based on the CBeebies series, were a big hit in our house and the wide variety of recipes really are simple enough for young kids to manage with minimal help.

Thanks, like the idea of collecting recipes...these days it’s all just on my phone. Shall look up the recommendations

I have borrowed a few cookbooks from the library and it’s a good way of familiarising myself with them, to be honest Zo don’t want to buy many after having them for the 4 week loan.
One I would buy again is Mary Berry Ultimate Cake Book.

I absolutely love the Cool Kids Cookbook by Jenny Chandler. My girls have cooked loads from it and our isn't as pink and sexist as some other books. The recipes are excellent.

Nadiya Hussain's Bake me a Story is good (it's not just cakes) and has a story to go with each recipe.

We love the Nadiya one mentioned above, plus a couple of ringbound Usborne ones we picked up in Aldi. The Sleepover one is good - includes 10 things to do with a potato!

This is also good agreatread.co.uk/complete-childrens-cookbook-9780241196885/?setCurrencyId=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6sn79sGx5wIViLbtCh2DEQ4gEAkYBCABEgJPfPD_BwE
