scrambled egg and potato waffles

but that wasn't what you meant, was it Grin

We're having duck breasts with a plum sauce (husband has been adapting on-line recipes. it involves star anise) and potatoes au gratin, with carrots and peas.

We’re having charred cherry tomatoes on yoghurt sauce, courgette and halloumi fritters, red pepper houmous, lamb chops marinated in olive oil and ras el hanout, with toasted pitta bread.

I’m looking forward to it!

Roast chicken and potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots and peas and sprouts, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Tomorrow we'll have thick chicken soup with the leftovers.

I had pasta with lemon, rocket, smoked salmon, olive oil and black pepper.

The ham is in the slow cooker ready for a roast dinner later Smile

We had bacon sandwiches for lunch.

We will have dinner at 6 though and have beef cooking in the slow cooker.

Do many people have a big meal in the middle of the day at the weekends-we never do?

We had tuna sandwiches. Sunday lunch is no different from lunch any other day in our house.

We do have a roast on most Sundays but we’re doing without in January to get over Christmas feasting...

@Dogegg33 can you share a recipe with me please 🖤

We usually eat Sunday lunch about 4 and mong out on the sofa after

I'm doing chicken broth today so will probably eat that tonight it's my favorite

I've chopped up a chicken it's on butternut squash hunks in the oven with thyme and garlic
Hassle back potatoes (I've only ever made them once before) and garlic mushrooms with spinach

I usually do roast about 2 times a month and then on a Sunday otherwise it's long cook food like lasagne, shep pie, chicken pie etc

Can't wait for the broth it's my very favorite food

We have a big lunch on Sundays. We all go to what we call "Church" but is just me and DD playing netball with DH and DS skating on their skateboards on the adjoining court. No religion (apart from the love of being outdoors doing stuff) Home by 11.30am nearer 12pm due to gossiping with friends I then shove something from the Green Roasting tin in the oven, showers are had and then we eat 1.30pm ish.

Tea then is get it yourself - cheese and crackers, warm up some soup (always a pan of weekend tomato soup in the fridge) or make yourself a toastie. After Sunday lunch I am Off.Duty.

Can hugely recommend these books for easy, easy, easy but really tasty meals. Veggie and Meat

@ChopOrNot the books look good. I've only recently started doing on tray meals and they are handy for washing up 😊 good old Mumsnet taught me the joy of a tray bake

We love soup in this house too,
Fennel is a firm favorite!!

I've never understood why people switch from dinner in the evening during the week to main meal soon after breakfast at the weekend.

Joint of rare roast beef is out of the oven & will be carved ready for dinner @ 20.00

We have our Sunday roast at our normal dinner time (anywhere from 7-8 pm).

Roast leg of lamb here and like at @handbagsatdawn33, I wouldn't fancy it just after I got up.

ChopOrNot · 19/01/2020 19:44

@handbagsatdawn33 and @katy1213 if you have a small breakfast at 9 (cos you are about to do sport) and then an hour of sport, believe me, you are hungry at 1pm!

And I love the chilled out Sunday afternoon/evening to be honest. Everyone else clears up after lunch, sorts their own tea later....I have nothing to do once lunch is served. Utter bliss. Try it!

I didnt have lunch. Ds1 (15) had super noodles. Ds2 (13) had beans on toast.

We had sausage, mash, peas and gravy for dinner. Roasts are rare in the Scamander house.

First roast since Xmas for us - it’s so cold! We do a brunch/snack lunch then dinner with toddler at half 5 ish on a Sunday. Love that all the cooking and clearing up is done by her bedtime and we can chill out/prep for work after.

Pork shoulder with sage and chorizo stuffing, zataar roasties, carrots and spinach followed by stewed apple and custard with toasted almonds.
