Food before daughters swimming lesson

My daughter (7) does swimming lessons after school on a Wednesday.
She finishes school at 3:30 and her lesson is at 5:30. She's only just moved to this time so trying to figure out what is good for her to eat and when?

I'm thinking once she gets home she can have a light dinner, then something snacky but healthy after swimming?

Do you think I have that the right way around? Or should she snack before then light dinner?

And any ideas of snack/light dinner options? She doesn't like banana! Confused

Personally, I’d give her something like cheese & biscuits straight after school and then something like a bowl of soup or jacket potato after swimming.

I would give her a snack beforehand then dinner after swimming
Eg peanut butter or cream cheese on toast, a bowl of whole grain cereal with milk, some malt loaf...nothing too heavy or hard to digest

Snack after school, before swimming...

-Bread sticks + babybell cheese
-Cucember, carrot, Pepper with houmous

  • Fruit + Cheese chunk
  • Dry cheerios
  • 1 piece of toast

Then a normal main meal after swimming... Any reason its a "light dinner"

Favourite after-school snacks in our family:
Yogurt-covered raisins
Boiled egg
Apple and peanut butter
Flapjack/cereal bar (my DD likes the frusli bars)
Pasta salad
Half a bagel with cream cheese
Frittata muffin
Slice of pizza
Sausage roll
Instant porridge

Our lessons are 5 and 5.30, mine have been having fishfinger sandwiches or quick pasta at 3.45, then crackers and cheese or similar at home after 6. 30. They don't do well having one big meal on these days so two smaller efforts is good for us.

We go straight from school. One swims at 4, the other at 4.30. I give them something like pain au chocolat / croissant / sandwich thin sandwich in the car. I take a bottle of drink & a squeezy yoghurt / babybel / pepperami for them for when they're not swimming. Then something like fish fingers, chips & frozen veg or tuna pasta or jacket potatoes for tea when we get back.

They're always ravenous after swimming, but they do PE on the same day as well!
