I have just made my first Bundt cake... it collapsed!

I put the Bundt tin on a tray. Is this what caused my culinary disaster?

Does anyone have great recipes I can practice?

TIA

I have also just made my first bundt cake in the silicone mold I got for Christmas! Used this recipe www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/marzipan-middle-bundt-cake

Took an age to cook but came out nicely, had to glue a bit of the top back on though.

P.s I also put mine on a tray and it seemed fine. Was it not cooked enough?

I made a coffee cake from a recipe found online that was lovely. My spiced fruit cake collapsed. Do I keep trying with it?

I cooked it for the time stated plus 10 and it was still under cooked. I think I'll try again with a recipe for a normal sponge cake that I've used hundreds of times before and see what happens.

Then I'll try that marzipan one!

I think we need to keep trying... the funny shaped tin can't beat us!

I have made this one, although I used self-raising flour instead with half a tea-spoon of baking powder. I didn’t put it on a tray and it came out cleanly and cooked.

Did you make sure you well greased the tin and dusted it with caster sugar?

I didn't dust with caster sugar but it was well greased.

I'm going to try again without the tray.

Moist ginger cake

www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/sticky-gingerbread-bundt-cake/

Grease well but no flour or sugar as this cooks the cake to the tin

The sugar stops it from sticking and gives it a delicious crust.

When I tried this it just cooked the cake to the tin & it was a disaster, afterward I was told that the sugar solution gets stuck to the tin and the cake so won’t release- which made sense, havent done it since

Odd. Not so much as a crumb stuck to my tin. Did you leave it to cool in the tin for ten minutes before turning it out?

That's the marzipan cake I cooked, spent ages in the oven, much longer then stated and the top still fell off.

I bought myself a bundt tin specially, so I could make Yottam's chocoflan

Hope it works though!

Most of the cakes I baked in Bundt tin are ok but nothing fancy (no double-layered except vanilla/chocolate).
I usually grease the tin with butter and generously dust with flour/breadcrumbs.
