freezing plums

i've got loads, do i need to cook them first or what? Any good ideas about what to do with them (apart from crumble cos we're all crumbled out here

Just freeze them in bags/containers. We halve them and take out the stones first. As to uses, we have stewed plums at least once a week. Crumble, fruit fool, pies, cakes, strudel, you name it, we do it. Make a puree from stewed plums, that goes lovely with either yoghurt or custard.

We freeze over 100 lb plums every year, so if the kids ask what's for pudding, they know really...

I've just had some stewed plums from my mum's garden and dd and I had them on porridge for breakfast.
