Boxing Day dessert for really boring, unadventurous people!

No fruit (hot or cold!), no meringue, no orange, no bread pudding sort of thing, no mincemeat .... 😫 I have loads of great Christmas dessert recipes but none of them seem to fit these people!

Basically I’m hoping I can’t go wrong with some warm, chocolate-y, maybe melt in the middle type of thing with some good ice cream. But I don’t have any tried and tested recipe along these lines.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Does it need to be homemade?
If not, then what about a bought croquembouche?

Nigella has a really good self saucing chocolate pudding which is very easy...

What fussy people!

You'll have enough work to do without pandering to them over a dessert.

A tub of posh ice cream & a good cheese board.

Sorry, I should have also mentioned:

  • no boozy tasting desserts like trifle (I’d have to cut the sherry AND the fruit! Xmas Angry)

-no marzipan or similar almond tasting things

I knoowwwww! 😫

I agree that I should stop stressing and probably just buy something! The nigella one looks good though.

Was planning on the cheese board too.

Thank you for all the yummy suggestions that I would eat in a minute!

You can't go wrong with cheesecake, maybe one rich chocolate which can be served warm and one lemon or New York baked? Serve with cream and ice cream..

Could they manage sticky date pudding??? Don’t tell them there’s dates in it??😂😂 they all fall apart anyway! Served with butterscotch sauce and ice cream. Though to be honest if they’re that fussy I would just go icecream!! Good luck 😀

Could you just serve a plate of brownies, some fancy choc chip shortbread, ice cream and a cheese board?

Jam roly-poly and custard. Even my ultra-conservative (about food) elderly uncle likes that.
