Picked up an instant pot this week but a bit daunted about where to start with it. Has anyone got good tried and tested recipes for it to share? Thanks!

I don’t do anything too adventurous in mine, mainly stews, soups, Bologna is type dishes, I just sauté the onion, meat and spices, Chuck everything else in with some tinned tomatoes or stock, shut the lid and press go, if I’m using meat from frozen just chuck it in after the sauté stage, it’s always tastes great.

My best tip would be to add tomatoes on top of other ingredients and DON'T stir them in. Tinned tomatoes will catch on the bottom of the pot and burn but if you put them on top and stir in afterwards then this works much better.

Enjoy!

Thanks both. How do you know when the food is ready? With soup or Bolognaise i would look at it and test it but I guess I can't do that with an instant pot?

Following with interest as I've just bought one on black friday and have NO idea what to do with it. It's all a bit intimidating at the moment but with a toddler and a baby the appeal of being able to chuck it all in and walk away was too strong to resist.

I love the recipes on TwoSleevers.com, especially her Now and Later Butter Chicken, and YouTube is a great place for learning how to use your Instant Pot.

Just as a follow up I made spaghetti and meatballs in it tonight and it was great! Took around 10 mins to come up to pressure and needed to cook it for 12 mins so no quicker than I could make on the hob but then I just left it to do its thing while I got on with other stuff.... it was so easy and turned out really nicely.

it's brilliant for rice dishes such as risotto, biryani and paella. a lot of the recipes online tend to be American so you need to get some cup measures but I use Every Nook and Cranny and Feisty Tapas a lot and they have some great Instant Pot recipes.
I've had mine for about 18 months and I use it several times a week - as well as main meals I use it for chicken or ham to use for lunches, making greek yogurt and also for soups

Hams are good, 25 mins and then a 10 min roast in the oven with honey and mustard. Also porridge, 3/4 cup oats 1 cup milk, 1 cup water, salt I. A dish and cook for 5 mins on porridge setting.
