seriously- never done a baked pot?

Ok, dh is a chef and swears by sprinkling course salt in a tray, pricking the potatoes placing on the salt and baking at 200 deg for about an hour- i on the other hand wash 'em, score 'em and bung in the oven on top whack

dh's do taste better but hey!

yes, prick & wrap in tin foil.

And take them out of the tin foil for the last 10 minutes.

I cover in olive oil and sprinkle with coarse salt (but not for dd of course ), zap in the microwave for 10 mins (or maybe 15 if there?s 3 of them). This does most of the cooking. Then I put in the oven (200C) for at least 30 mins, the longer the better, anything up to an hour. Perfectly cooked, and perfectly tasty.

That?s for big ones by the way, if they?re smaller reduce cooking times.

They'll cook in the microwave a lot quicker but aren't as nice.

You can microwave them, but they are not fluffy and the skin is not very nice. You could start them in the microwave and finish them off in the oven to cut down time.

Wash, prick and bake for 50-60 mins depends on the size obviously.
I never wrap them as they seem to sweat.

Hot oven, pick potatoes with form, in oven for 60 minutes or so, depending on size. Perfect

Can do them quicker in microwave but they just aren't anywhere near as noce as those done int he oven for the full time.

I normally start them in microwave and pop them in oven to do the skins !

Takes about an hour in the oven so i just start them off in the micro and finish them in the oven cos the micro ruins them really.

I micro first as well, prick all over, 5 mins in micro and then 15 mins at GM6ish, nice and crispy!

I cook them on a high heat with a metal skewer pushed through the middle to help speed up cooking the insides. About an hour for me too.
