Cheesecake stuck in pan!

Right so idiot I am, I made a cheesecake in a normal cake pan. Not springform and now I cannot get it out!

It's a no bake cheesecake that has been in the fridge since yesterday afternoon.

I read on another forum, as someone else had made the same mistake! That I should freeze it and then turn it upside down on a plate etc as you could do a normal cake.

My question is... how long would you freeze it for? I just need it set it enough to not smoosh it when I turn it upside down!
But also need to serve it this evening for DH birthday!

I could serve it in the pan but I wanted to decorate it with dripping icing effect 🤤

Arhhh

I’m guessing it doesn’t have a loose bottom?
Did you line it at all?

If it’s been in the fridge it should be fairly solid but it won’t be solid enough for it not to squash if you turn it upside down. Is it double cream and mascarpone? That does freeze ok.
If you’ve got time then freeze, turn it out and the leave at room temperature to defrost.

Nope no lining 🤦🏻‍♀️

It's pretty much just cream cheese, butter and double cream.

I'm just wondering what's the shortest time I can freeze it for.... like an hour and then turn it or longer?

Hard to say.
I make it with mascarpone whipped up with double cream, sugar and lime juice. You can freeze that and eat it like ice cream.

At a guess I’d say a couple of hours to freeze it.

I am assuming that the tin DOES have a loose base, or you would never have got it out without freezing. Can't you just run a knife around the side to loosen it? Or do you have one of those pesky 'Non-Stick' coated tins that you will scratch through the coating with a knife?

What's it for? I'd just eat it with a spoon Grin but you could just scoop it out and make individual wine glass/ramekin cheesecakes, or own the mistake and turn the whole lot upsidedown and declare it cheesecake turnover?

I had to serve it in the tin! 🤦🏻‍♀️

DH was happy enough with it!
It was a lotus Biscoff cheesecake and it was amazeballs! 🤤

Thank for all help and suggestions. I've made a mental note to use a springform pan next time I do a cheesecake!!

Next time freeze it overnight, take it out on a plate, then defrost it in the fridge for a few hours.

God, it sounds delicious. What's the recipe?

You could also use a greaseproof paper tin liner. Asda and Morrisons sell them.

Super easy to make.

The biscoff spread topping was a bit stingy so if you do make it, try doubling up the spread for the top.
