I've just found The Batch Lady on youtube and I've been binge watching

Does anyone else like her? She shows you how to batch cook - she's Scottish not American, she makes recipes we'll definitely eat, she's fabulous! I'm really inspired.

(Not to say Americans aren't fabulous, btw, just great to hear someone talk about batch cooking with a UK slant, as the books I've seen about it tend to be American)

Never heard of her before but I'll maybe have a look.

Just checked her out. Does she store everything in plastic bags? Doesn't seem great for the environment

No, would have to agree there, even if she uses the thicker ones so they are washable. We have some Tupperware we've had for years that I use in the freezer.

I've cooked double and frozen half before, but never thought of assembling meals, freezing raw and then bunging them in the slow cooker on the day. That was a new one on me and I like it!

I've done that before but I used plastic bags also (but tupperwares that you can reuse is so much more sensible).
Does she have a blog/list of ingredients? I CBA to watch videos as I'd only have to rewind to find out what to put in it anyway!

Ooh I have found her, but lots of pre-prepared veg etc.! Again very wasteful of plastic.

Yes, she has a website, I googled The Batch Lady and it came up, she has most of her recipes on there.

I did like the 10 chicken meals in an hour idea. I'm going to do something like that with a few tweaks - I like to cry over my onions as I chop them myself Grin, change a couple of the recipes for ones I already use and hopefully use a bit less plastic by getting bigger packages of the ingredients etc.

She uses a lot of pre-made spice mixes (faghita) and her chilli recipe was not something l would use (a dusting of chilli powder, but no cumin/paprika etc ground spice).

However, it’s a great idea in regards to the 10 mince meals in an hour. I just think, with the chicken recipes I’d make a curry but freeze half (I find cooking for more than 20mins gives it more flavour).
