The recipe I've got calls for 'yellow mustard'. Should I use Coleman's (English, hot) or French's (American, sweet)?

How much does the recipe say to use? If it's a US recipe I wouldn't use the English mustard. More than about a teaspoon of that would make it way too hot.

I'd use French's.

Use Frenchs American mustard.

Oh dear. I used Coleman's.

It only occurred to me to query this as I was putting the ingredients away and spotted the French's.

Recipe called for 1 tablepoon, but I'd roughly halved the quantites, so I used 1 teaspoon.

Hope it'll be edible!

A teaspoon of English mustard in macaroni cheese will be absolutely fine.

It was! It was very nice. Not as excellent as the proper pie I tasted, but infinitely better than regular mac-n-cheese.

DP is half Bajan, he says it's probably meaning American style, but he'd use either. He also said everyone's recipe is a bit different so just make it how you like it!
