Rice crispy cakes

Has anyone got a quick but nice crispy cake recipe? Batch cooking for a summer fete and know these usually go down well but I can't find my recipe!! Thanks.

Half pack of butter, tablespoon of golden syrup, couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder. Check how that tastes and adjust syrup and cocoa. Add rice crispies until it’s dry enough to form ‘cakes’.

I just use Rice Krispies or cornflakes and melted chocolate. Simples.

I used this the other week, made lovely light cereal type bars and my colleague approved as we had them for breakfast!

2 cups and 1/2 ready brek oats
2 cups rice Krispy cereal
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup honey
1 tablespoon golden syrup

Line a baking pan with parchment paper
In a large bowl toss together the oats and crispy rice cereal. Set aside.
In a medium sized sauce pan over medium heat melt together the butter, brown sugar, honey and golden syrup. After everything has melted together, allow the mixture to come to a slow boil for 2 minutes while gently stirring. Remove the pot from the heat and allow to cool for about 5 minutes.
Pour the sauce into your bowl with the oats and cereal stirring it together with a large spoon.
Spoon the batter into your prepared pan and press it down tightly with your hands or rubber spatula/wooden spoon. Place the tray in the fridge for a couple of hours to harden. Then cut into squares

Marshmallows, toffee, butter and rice crispies, lovely and sticky.

Second this.
They don't look chocolatey and exciting but they are so delicious.
Just don't panic when melting the marshmallows, butter and toffees together. They will all melt together into a sort of gravy.
My recipe uses 6oz Rice Krispies but was given to me by my frugal MiL.
The more binding toffee mixture, the better, it seems to me 🙂

My granny's recipe, so so simple.

Melt mars bars with butter and then add Rice Krispies
Once mixed flatten out on a baking tray.

Melt Milk chocolate and pour over.

Put in the fridge to set and then cut into squares

Now, one of the reasons I added a sort of "Don't Panic" suggestion above was because a friend tried the toffee/butter/marshmallow recipe but decided halfway through it would never melt all together and threw it away. Saucepan included
I've since explained that if you just soak any sugary disaster it will melt away in time. And the t/b/m mixture would melt together given a bit longer.

My problem is that I've never successfully melted a Mars bar. Are they supposed to eventually go smooth or are there always little solid bits in the mixture?
Basically, am I wimping out too soon?

Oooo, some fabulous ideas here, thanks!! They're much more exciting than my usual ones so I'll have to try a few and report back. Obviously I'll need to taste them all just to make sure.......

northern absolutely! You must try them ALL to make sure they are ok. It's the LAW!

Mars bars will melt completely. I do them in the microwave on a lower hear and mix well

I made the toffee/marshamallow/butter recipe and can definitely say they are veerrry nice! Some actually made it onto the stall after an extensive tasting session just to make sure.....I think I need to try the Mars bar one next. My tastebuds thank you all, my expanding butt and thighs aren't quite so happy....
