Hi all, looking for some recommendations used to use the Tesco Thai green curry paste but they have discontinued and the new one is awful have tried a few brands but can’t seem to find one that tastes right, so I’m after possibly a tried and tested recipe for a paste or a cheaters ready made paste which will be a go to
Thank you

Barts used to be the best for green and yellow Thai curry paste but I haven't seen them for sale a long time though to be fair I no longer live in the UK (where they might be clogging the supermarket shelves!)

If you can, find a chinese supermarket or one of those small local shops that import the real stuff. I bought a supermarket brand recently, made one curry and threw out the rest of the jar. It was vile.

Thai taste paste in a little pot is the closest I have found to proper homemade one.

Thai Taste Green Curry Paste Gang Keow Wan at Sainsbury's is good, it's a 200g pack, you buy the coconut milk, fish sauce etc. separate. They sell little 2 meal kits of it in the Lidl too, with a bit of coconut milk and coriander in with it.

I use Thai Taste although I mainly use the red one. Just add fish sauce / coconut milk / lime leaves and chicken / veg.

I use a whole little pot to 2 tins of coconut milk.

I buy my pastes online from here:

mythaicurry.com

They are amazing, and very authentic, though the hotter one of the green curry pastes is very hot indeed.

I agree with GCAcademic above, the mythaicurry pastes are easily the best you can buy and the Bangkok paste is the milder of the 2 green pastes they sell. The Mae ploy pastes are like stock cubes and about 20% salt! As for Thai Taste, each to their own I suppose but after six years living and working in Thailand, the last thing they tasted of to me on trying was Thai:-(
