Defrosting help!

I put a frozen fish pie in the fridge last night at 4pm- it’s been 24 hours and it is still frozen and I wanted it for dinner tonight!

Can I stick it in the oven from half frozen and just make sure it is really hot and cooked when done? I can’t remember if the fish in there has already been cooked or is raw.

Anyone? I need to know if I can serve it for dinner without poisoning my toddler!

Do you have a microwave that you could use on a defrost setting first?

I’d cook it at a lower temperature for a much longer time. Google cook fish pie from frozen to get the idea.

I put it the oven covered with foil on low and just make sure it is piping hot all the away through before serving.

I've done this with lasagne today.

From reading online it is saying it could take 1.5-2 hours, so no use for the toddler now! Will serve him fish fingers (again...) and put it in the oven now for me and DH when he is in bed later.

Do you not have a microwave then?

Nope no microwave.

DH has just rang asking I want anything picking up from the shops so decided it’s pizza for tea and will leave the fish pie in the fridge and eat tomorrow night instead.

I tend to take stuff it in the morning to defrost on the worktop and then put it in the fridge as soon as its defrosted. Then heat until piping hot
