Just dished one up. Chop bacon, onion, garlic, mushrooms, peppers and fry off. Add two cans of chopped tomatoes, herbs of your choice, a good glug of balsamic vinegar and plenty of black pepper.
Add to cooked pasta and put in oven proof dish. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and grated cheese and bake for about 20 mins.

Oooh, following for ideas!

My favourite is: sweat down leeks and bacon/gammon, then stir in to cooked pasta with mascarpone cheese. Breadcrumbs, and bake.

Also chicken and chorizo, onion, chopped tomatoes, pasta.

Am I the only one who likes crushing crisps (like Doritos, Cheddars etc) and sprinkling them on top?

Back with another. Chop butternut squash into chunks, put on baking tray, spray with oil and season. (Frozen works fine and saves the faff!) Put in the oven until soft and browning. Mean while boil pasta and fry off a finely chopped red onion. Drain pasta, add onion BNS and stir in cream cheese (I use the onion or garlic and herb light philli.) stir in some fresh spinach and pour into dish. Crumble blue cheese and wholemeal breadcrumbs over the top and bake.

www.nigella.com/recipes/sweet-potato-macaroni-cheese - we really liked this, but I'd add a bit more feta than the recipe suggests

I struggle with pasta bake, a) because it feels like a huge faff for something that tastes so basic and b) because I don't eat tinned tomatoes.

The only one I ever make these days is:
roast chunky pieces of red onion, red pepper, yellow pepper plus whole or halved mushrooms
Cook pasta but undercook slightly
Mix pasta into veggies in roasting tin and add a small drained tin sweetcorn
Mix in a load of garlic and help cream cheese plus some red pesto and some milk or creme fraiche to thin it down a bit
Top with cheese and bake

It's far from my favourite meal, but dp likes it.

Boil penne, drain and stir in a jar of Lloyd Grossman’s chile tomato sauce. Layer tuna, pasta, mozzarella twice in your dish. Parmesan. Bake 30 mins.

Pasta, jar of home-pride, refill jar with water once, bung in the oven. Stir after half hour and top with cheese. Bake until golden.

That's the only pasta bake my toddler will eat. If I add bacon bits, or tuna, or shoot me down a vegetable of some kind, then it is refused.

My favourite is pasta, 4 cheese sauce, smoked salmon and sautéed leeks, with golden breadcrumb and 4 cheese topping.
The cheese sauce is standard white sauce with gruyere, mozzarella, mature cheddar and Parmesan grated very finely. The topping is the same finely grated four cheeses with breadcrumbs mixed in (preferably from toasted ciabatta or french bread). Another variation is the same only with crispy bacon pieces, a couple of tea spoons of whole grain mustard and some small broccoli florets. Food of the Gods.

Shameless place marking.

Make cheese sauce. Add can of tuna. I also like to add frozen mixed veg. Season, being generous with the pepper.

Cook pasta. Mix together with cheese sauce in ovenproof dish.

Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and more grated cheese. Bake at 180 for 20 mins.

We all love this 😊
