How many days of shelf life would you expect to get from chicken delivered by tesco?

Got a delivery from Tesco at 9pm on Tuesday evening. I decided to cook something with it today (Sat) and noticed the use by date was last Thursday. So it was delivered with a 2 day shelf life. I'm feeling annoyed but not sure what would be normal.

Just send them an email or phone them and they will refund it no questions asked. I can't remember how many days they guarantee (when you shop it'll say 2+, 3+ etc) but they will happily reimburse.

At least 2 but preferably more.

About 2 sounds fine.

I'd expect 3-4 days. Buying Tues (late) and expecting to cook on Saturday is perfectly reasonable.

But it's not guaranteed so as I'm putting the shopping away, I check all the dates and if something is too short dated I phone them and get a refund.

I think if you phone today, they'll be fine about refunding you.

Thanks all. I've phoned them and they instantaneously offered a refund. Excellent customer service.

They're very good for that, no quibbling.
