Instant Pot and basmati rice

I'm having mixed results doing basmati rice in my Instant Pot. Too soggy the first time, lots stuck on the bottom the second time. What water to rice ratio would people recommend? Thanks.

The usual rice ration is 1 rice to 2 water

Use a Pyrex bowl inside the instant pot
Rice : water ratio is 1 to 2

Make sure you have some water in the bowl, stand the trivet given with the IP in the water and place the Pyrex bowl ( uncovered) on the trivet... try with small amount of rice at a time, you can put a teaspoon of oil in the water in the Pyrex bowl so the rice won't be sticky ,there will be a small variation in time with the quality of rice..
Usually 6 minutes on high pressure with vent close...good luck!

Going to dip my toe in the Instant Pot "water"/rice proportion debate.

Double the amount of water to rice is close to what I would use in a lidded saucepan on the hob: if I measured 8fl oz of dry rice, I would then soak and wash it (essential I think) melt a little butter in the saucepan, put in rice, stir around gently then add 20fl oz of boiling water, put the lid on, simmer on lowest heat possible 15 mins. Remove from stove and allow to stand with clean tea towel in place of the lid.

As the steam losses are far less in the Instant Pot, the proportion of water needs to be smaller. For one or two portions of washed rice add 1 and 1/3 volume of water. For larger amounts of rice it could be 1and 1/4 volume.
So, for one normal portion of rice I allow 1/3 of a cup dry rice, wash it, add 1/3 cup water plus nearly half of the same cup. This is all pot-in-pot cooking using Tilda basmati rice.

There are a lot a variables here, including the brand of rice and whether it's prewashed.

Frankly, I find the saucepan method reliable and not too slow so I tend to stick with that.

Rice is very easy. 1 cup of wet rice (fill the measuring cup with rice, put it under the cold tap and gently fill with water, then put your hand over the top of the cup and drain out the water), with 2 cups of water. Hit the rice button - fluffy rice, no residue.
