What's for Sunday lunch/dinner? And what time do you eat?

Roast pork, stuffing, potato carrot and swede mash, broccoli, cauliflower and spinach here. With apple sauce and gravy. We'll eat around 1:45 - 2pm. I grew up eating the Sunday meal at around 6pm but am now in the habit of eating earlier and then having a light snack in the evening. What happens in your house?

We're having roasted pepper quiche and sweet potato wedges at about 12.30. It was going to be a roast dinner but we want to go out ASAP this afternoon after DD's nap because it's such a lovely day here!

I have got a roast chicken and some lentil soup on the go. Not sure whether to have the roast at lunchtime and have soup this evening or the other way round.

No idea and no idea.

So far we've had toast and coffee in bed.

Still in bed.

No DC here.

Minty shepherds pie with leeks, broccoli and carrots. Eat about 7.30.

Chilli followed by cherry pie. We'll all eat about 5. Kids not keen on roasts so don't do them that often. Our Sunday dinner tends to be chilli, pasta bake, sausages, homemade pizza.

We will eat about 7.30 and DH is making mushroom stroganoff. We both love roast dinners although not with meat (both vegetarian) but don't necessarily have one on a Sunday.

Interesting to read your replies. As I said, I grew up eating later in the evening and only ate Sunday lunch at lunchtime when I visited my grandparents. DP grew up eating at lunchtime so we've kind of adapted to doing that now. For me it means Sunday evenings are more relaxed as we'll just have supper of crumpets or crackers. Reminds me of my grandparents too and I think it's nice remembering people through food. I habitually get quite anxious on Sunday evenings so it's nice not to be cooking a meal in the evening.

We don't have proper Sunday dinners as dh is always working. We will have something quick when he gets in.

Just myself and DH so doing a small beef joint, roast potatoes, carrots, green beans, Yorkshires and gravy. Normally would do mash as well if the DC were here for the weekend but DH not fussed so more of a mini roast today. Will eat about 5.30!

Today we're having garlic philly stuffed chicken breasts wrapped in prosciutto and baked with salsa, served with roasted baby new potatoes and greens. It's one of DS's favourite dinners. We'll probably eat about 5ish.

Sandwiches or similar got lunch, cooked meal about 6.30 which will be either something quick like pasta or cooked in the instant pot such as stew or chilli, as we are all out at football/swimming clubs in the afternoon. We only do roast dinner about twice a year and one of those is Christmas, one of our DCs hates them and the rest of us aren't bothered.

We’ve never done the traditional SUnday lunch or dinner. Sunday is a busy day - we usually go to our favorite deli for brunch and then visit friends. If we aren’t doing that, we spend a weekend a month in Belgium visiting my family and friends where we eat at a local restaurant.

Was supposed to be roast pork with stuffing, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, Saboy cabbage, cauliflower, carrots and peas with gravy, but Tesco substituted my pork joint for a single gammon steak Angry so I’ve either got to get the kids ready and drag them and my 28 weeks pregnant with spd self allllll the way to Asda (dp at work and has the car) or use something from the freezer - we have a few individual meat pies, battered chicken breasts, and a lonely lamb chop so might cook all that up and everyone can fight over what they (don’t) want.

Inspired by the fake baked carrot cake thread yesterday, I made my own for afters!

Will eat around 4:30ish when dp is home.
