HELP! If I bake sponge cakes in cereal bowls, am I going to ruin them?

I doubt it! Although you could try if they are not too precious to you. Am also not sure how well it would rise if it is too deep.

Can you make 4 ordinary round tins then cut two down and layer them all and cover in butter cream to make it rounded?
Does that make any sense?

Hmm, I cooked something (can't in my sleep deprived state remember what) in the oven on an earthenware saucer last week and the saucer cracked. It was on at quite a high temp though and I think earthenware is quite brittle.

This is going to sound disgusting about microwaving the sponge, if you are gouing to ice them? Havn't done this for years, when microwaves were a novelty, but it can be done!

That's the problem with microwaving

I need to find a nicer recipe - I wonder if adding milk would help....or more eggs?

Mine are fine to eat warm - but when the get cold they go a bit dry & crunchy

3 tablespoons of golden syrup
100gr [4oz] self raising flour
50gr[2oz] shredded suet
50gr[2oz] caster suger
1 egg
2 tablespoons water
4 tablespoons milk
2 drops of vanilla essence

1 golden syrup in bowl
2Mix flour ,suet and suger together.Beat in the egg,water,milk and vanilla essence.spoon mixture on to sryup.
3 Cover the basin with cling film and cook for 2 mins,Remove the cling film and turn the basin round (not if youhave turntable)and cook for a further 2 mins
4 Leave the pudding to stand for 2 mins before turning out and serving
