Pancake Birthday cake?

Is this a ridiculous idea?
My daughter’s birthday is on shrove Tuesday and I thought of layering up loads of pancakes with her favourite toppings in between.
Am I going to just spend hours with a million eggs making this for very little effect??

I think it's a lovely idea.

Thank you! In my head it looks amazing but I’m thinking it’ll need loads of pancakes to get any ‘height!’
Oh well, I’ll try and hope for the best 😊

Lovely idea but she may not appreciate your efforts! Maybe an ordinary birthday cake as well?

Buttermilk pancakes are higher. Easier to cut too.

She has requested pancakes so thought I’d try and incorporate the 2!
Maybe both on offer is the way to go 😩

Said raking from experience, I agree with previous poster - make it using puffy American style pancakes not Crepe thin ones. I made one for DH's birthday brunch one year and not only did it take FOREVER the end result was incredibly stodgy and heavy and really NOT good served cold! (It was only slightly better warmed through, it was just so dense as like you suggested, I'd made a billion pancakes to get height!) Never again!

Thanks balloondog! I’m now thinking a plain birthday cake plus pancakes with a serious birthday, sugar, Nutella, strawberry, lemon and sugary pig out!

Cold pancakes don't taste that good in my opinion. Can you make her a couple with her favourite toppings, then make it look special with a sparkler, like they do in a restaurant.
