Please tell me your recipes for cabbage. The easiest the better!
I can't believe I never bought one before....

I love it simmered in milk with onions and bacon, and a little grate of nutmeg. Pure comfort.

I only buy sweetheart cabbage and that's lovely lightly boiled with lots of butter and some black pepper.

Just as a veg? Slice, steam 6 mins or so, bit of butter, job done.
Fancier? Look up a cabbage and bacon recipe.

Chop it up, and boil in salted water for about 5 minutes, then drain.

In the same pan, melt a very large knob of butter and then slowly sweat a large, chopped onion. When it's soft and translucent, put the cabbage back in the pan, add the juice of a lemon, stir it all together, then put the lid on, turn the heat down and let it braise for about 20 minutes. Season well with black pepper and a little salt.

Alternatively, chop and boil the cabbage, as above.

Drain, pour into a shallow oven dish, fry a large onion, add that, then pour over a tin of chopped tomatoes. Top with a generous handful of grated cheddar and bake until the cheese has melted and gone nice and brown on top.

Too tired to look them up, but there are some amazing and simple braised cabbage recipes.

You put a sliced cabbage in a well-lidded pot on low for an hour (with vinegar/onion/bacon/whatever).

Come back after the hour... and there's something completely magical and sweet and luscious where once your cabbage lurked.

Large pan with a knob of melted butter. Add shredded cabbage, thinly sliced shallot and a crushed clove of garlic. Sweat until soft. Add half a tub of Philadelphia cheese and stir until melted through. Decant to oven proof dish. Top with cheddar and bung it in the oven at 170 for 30ish minutes.

It is @EcceInPictura. I'm low carb and it's a great substitute for spuds when I'm doing a roast. It's even more deliciously filthy cold the next day. 😉
