Fruit-free hot cross buns?

Has anyone ever come across hot cross buns that don't contain dried fruit/raisins?

I could try and make my own, but I was hoping to be able to keep a stash of shop bought ones in my desk drawer when I'm peckish at work. Plus my baking isn't ideal!

The chocolate ones are nice.

Isn’t that just an enriched bread dough? Bread with eggs and/or butter added. Just buy brioche instead?

Waitrose have chocolate orange ones, and I'm really hoping that M&S have the caramel/fudge and chocolate ones again this year!

I don't like raisins but love the M&S blueberry hot cross buns. If not they also do toffee and tesco do chocolate

Tesco do salted caramel and chocolate ones, had to try them, lush, and also a few more times, ahem, for quality assurance.

Our local had them yellow stickered down to 16p a pack, I thought I did well to only buy 3 packs for the freezer!!!

Hot cross buns contain fruit but brioche is similar - Aldi do nice individually wrapped ones

Thanks all
Brioche always seemed less sticky than hot cross buns unfortunately.
But plenty of ideas for me to go at!

Second the m and s salted caramel and chocolate - Devine! I’ve already started stashing some in my freezer. Their mini chocolate ones always good.

Co op do a lovely toffee and chocolate one. To me, hot cross bun without fruit is wrong, but these are proper lush.

A hot cross bun without raisins/sultanas is just wrong Wink

But if you insist, Tesco have loads of different ones: salted caramel & chocolate chip, apple & cinnamon, toffee fudge & Belgian chocolate, raspberry & white chocolate, maple & blueberry, orange & cranberry. (Obviously some of those do have fruit - I'm not sure if it's just raisins you're avoiding?)

Actually some of those sound lovely... Maybe I could be converted!
