It's tea time again - forced to cook as I have a family to feed - if I had my way I'd eat out every night

Here we are again. Time to cook the evening meal. Don't you feel like me and get sick of the chore? Trying to choose what everyone wants to eat. Feeling forced to make a meal for everyone because they are hungry and you are not and you don't feel like it.
Oh to be a kid again and have my mum put dinner in front of me.

That's why I'm on here - avoiding it!

You need to win the lottery and employ a chef!

I think it's one of the worse things about being at home with the children - trying to think of something to cook every night. Wouldn't be so bad if they ate it.....

I did have a meal planned for tonight as well. Took chicken out of the freezer last night to defrost. Just come in from work/school run/swimming lessons and the sodding chicken is still has hard as a rock . So much for me trying to be organised.

I know what you mean. I've just made mushroom, peppers and onion omlette and served it with egg noodles with soy sauce. It only took ten minutes and it was very tasty would deffo recommend for a quick dinner!

I get really fed up with it too. I get really excited if anyone ever invites us for tea.

I've stolen an easy recipe from a friend which I am trying out this evening, so I'm feeling a bit inspired. Her kids love it apparently, but mine will probably go 'yuk' when it is served up.

mine are getting bigger now ( 11, 9 & 8) so i have a helper for chores every night when i get in that includes kitchen gofer. once my dd starts high school in August she will be reponsible for cooking one evening meala week, with me supervising.

so, it gets better as they get older and fend for themselves, but of they refuse to eat what i make them, they can make themsleves toast or a cheese snadwhich. once i've cooked, i stop!

I bought the Annabel Karmel after school tea book after someone recommended it here, and we're having the sesame chicken bites from it tonight. Mainly I ana't be bothered though, so we have special fried rice lots.
