Year 6 Leavers Party drinks

I'm planning a party for the Year 6 leavers at dd's school. It's going to be a barbecue/pool party (because the weather is going to be wonderful by July 18th isn't it?) We're going to have a cocktail bar, and I'd love some non-alcoholic coctail recipes to serve! There's 60 children and we've got a limited budget. Any ideas? And it anybody's got an good ideas for names that would be good too!

here are some non alcoholic ones, not sure how well they will do on your budget tho.

Thanks - just the sort of thing I need. Loved the Virgin Martini!

What else are you doing Kate? I'm doing exactly the same thing for 55 on 14th July. Ours in indoors though just in case!

We're really lucky because our school's got a little pool and a big field. We're going to put tables round the pool and make cocktail menus for the tablea. We've got some dads who are going to wear dinner jackets and be waiters. One of the granddads ia part of a jazz trio and they are going to come and play for an hour, and I'm getting a list of the children's most popular favourite tracks to play when the band finishes. The dinner ladies are going to do a hot dog barbecue. Apart from that, I'm just expecting the boys to charge about on the field and play football and half the girls to drift round in full make up pretending to be 18. Oh, and I've got class photos from every year since reception and I'm going to make a sort of memory board. If it rains I'm going to......panic!!!!!!!!

Mine is purely organised by me. Nothing to do with the school. We've asked all the parents for a fiver and a photo of their lo's like you. We're doing a guess the baby competition, playing indoor hockey and doing a pop quiz from all the years at school. My brother is shooting a video and will get sound bites from all the kids too. Food wise, we're having hot dogs and i'll be making a huge cake with the school logo on it. Passed caring that I'm probably not allowed to use the badge for something thats non-school, but frankly the cake will be cut up and in a bag before anyone in authority sees it!!

Ours have just done a "memories" assembly for the whole school, where they talk about things they've enjoyed during their time since Reception. Ds came home talking at length about this, he really enjoyed it (Yr 3).
They also have a disco, and a trip away.
Good luck with your cocktails and party katelyle, hope the weather holds. It sounds lovely

We've got the end of year production tomorrow night which is going to be a killer. Aparently, this is the night that it finally hits kids and parents that they are leaving! They're away at PGL next week and then, its the last week!

Maureen, now ds is in Juniors I've got to know a few of the Yr 6s this year (that and dd being a social bulldozer who seems to know everyone ). I feel quite sad they are moving on, great kids all of them, goodness knows how you Yr6 parents must feel about it all [teary emoticon].
