Ponce Alert! The things people order in coffee shops.....

Heard a man today ordering 'a shot and a half espresso', followed by a woman who ordered a 'double skinny latte with one shot decaf and one shot regular and chocolate on top'.

Are their tastebuds really so finely calibrated?

The problem now is that you can't just order a coffee. They always then ask you how big, what type, what do you want with it, etc.?? Why can't I just have a coffee??

LOL at half decaf half caff! What does that say about a person's character eh? Tinkle or get off the potty, Lady.

I ordered DH a "skinny latte with an extra shot of coffee" at the services the other say.. but we are so not poncy.. Skinny because he isn't.. and extra, to keep him awake enough to drive!

I adore poncey coffee - skinny latte means it doesn't taste like butter and add an extra shot if you need to get things done.

Don't get the 'one shot of regular one of decaff' - indecisive maybe? Shot an a half bloke obv has OCD

Reminds me of Stephen Fry adding Pro-Plus to decaff to make "recaff" coffee.

Yes, I felt boring ordering a plain latte. Clearly I have not fully explored the many possibilities open to a coffee customer...

'Skinny' latte. Rolls eyes.

I brew at home, too.

Coffee shops are such a rip off.

You get more bang for your buck in a pub.

But "Skinny latte" is not poncy surely..? It's just semi/skimmed milk isn't it?

Do you not give them "Builders' coffee" out of a jar?

Get a DeLonghi coffee maker from Woolie's or Agros.

Buy some coffee from Lidl.

Your tastebuds will thank you, cuz the European stuff rocks.

all I ever want is a tall steamed milk and they look at me like I am mad because it's so simple.

I still treasure the memory of my mother asking for 'a tai chi latte' though

Why would cappucino equal fat bird? Confused Surely a latte has more calories??

cappucino means small monk in Italian (according to stand up guy in hayonwye)

Ima - this was in central London, where ponces abound.

I have a friend in New York who reminds me of Woody Allen. He's a very sophisticated fellow, but goes to restaurants and orders a Coke to drink - and requests 'half regular, half diet and decaf of both if you have it'. Love him, but

I was introduced to the concept of "Builders' tea" recently, that's why I asked. Some people even have particular mugs set aside for tradesmen.
