Please suggest me some Italian main courses..

depends what your are looking for? Meat / veg / fish?

We cook Italian a lot and regularly make stuff like:

Mushroom risotto
fennel and prawn risotto
meatballs in cherry tomato and white wine sauce
Pollo alla cacciatore
Italian Chicken parcels
Lasagne
ragu
minestrone (river cafe recipe is fab)
Italian beef olives
I recently made Delia's beef in barolo which went down very well

Chicken arrabiatta - very easy and goes well with pasta, rice or potatoes

Tomato based ragu with chilli, large frozen prawns added in last 5 mins with a dash vermouth.

Meanwhile cook linguine al dente. After draining season with ground pepper and a teeny dash of good olive oil.

Toss all together (Quiet at the back there!) and garnish with chopped flat leaf parsley. A dry Italian white goes very well with it.

This all takes 10 mins if the ragu is bought made ahead of time, leaving time for you to positively glitter as the host.

I love the flat chicken with a sage leaf bashed into it then egged, breadcrumbed and fried. Parmesan chicken is it called?

Melanzane alla parmigiana...aubergine with parmesan, mozzarella and lashings of olive oil. Not a diet option but all kinds of deliciousness.

What do you mean by main courses exactly? Pasta isn't a main course in Italy. Main courses we eat regularly are

• tagliata (cut up steak) on rocket with parmesan
• polpettone (meatloaf) with mushrooms and potatoes
• meatballs with tomato sauce and peas
