Foods to avoid

Hello everyone

I’ve only just found out I’m pregnant with my first and reading up on foods to avoid but I can’t see anything on chicken.

Is it safe to eat pre-cooked packets of chicken, like the ones you get from M&S, Tesco etc.

I usually eat them at lunch but I’m second guessing everything now!

TIA

As long as it's cooked through it's fine. I think people worry a little too much these days about food during pregnancy, as long as it's not off/sat out etc. the risks are very minimal. x

Thank you 😊

It was the NHS guidelines I was reading but didn’t see anything about the packaged deli chicken.

I’m just being paranoid about everything haha.

From Nhs:

Pre-packed meatis safe to eat if you're pregnant

Pre-packed meatssuch asham and corned beef are safe to eat in pregnancy. Somewebsites based in other countries may suggestthat youavoid pre-packed meats whenpregnant, but this is not the advice in the UK.
