Low calorie lunch that isn't soup or salad?

Trying to loose weight eating max of 1200 calories a day. Looking for some nice lunch ideas that aren't soup or salad as fed up of these.

Eggs, cooked any way really, omelet with loads of veggies? Hard boiled eggs were often my packed lunch.

Thin slices of ham with cottage cheese in like a wrap. Or lettuce leaves as wraps with veggies or cottage cheese or chicken in.

Half a tin of beans on a slice of toast
Mushrooms and chopped ham on toast
Fat free cottage cheese on toast!
Fat free cream cheese on rice cakes

tuna and cucumber and cream cheese rivetas.
saute down some peppers tomatos red onion.or roast.then have in pitta or wraps.
spring rolls made with the wrapsthin slice of ham and raw veggie bits.
tortilla pizza done in pan.
tomatos on toast.

Egg Salad lettuce wraps. Soft boil the eggs and you can mash them up as they are, without using any mayonnaise. Plenty of seasoning.

Chicken and vegetable (or just vegetable) stir fry either without noodles or with ‘fake’ noodles such as the ones by Barenaked.

Salmon fillet - those "hot smoked" ones - with wilted spinach and low fat creme fraiche. Add half or a third of a Pre cooked rice packet for some carbs if you want.

Also don't dismiss salads. They don't all have to be just lettuce, tomato cucumber. In fact most of my salads don't have any of the above. Feta and beetroot with butternut squash is my favourite.

When I was doing 1200 calories I allowed myself 400 for lunch and easily managed something like a chicken salad wrap.

I found it easier to be tighter on dinner; 600 gives you plenty of lean protein and veg.

Small can baked beans with spinach chopped into it, heat, cheese on top. On own on toast or or big grilled mushroom.

Any combo of avocado and tomato, egg, mushroom, spinach.

Omelette made with peas and feta - delicious!

Crudutes and breadsticks with humous/guacamole

Oh yes, and soup or salad!

Re salads, I always use baby spinach instead of lettuce and put bit of red onion and few baby capers on top and splash of olive oil and lemon. Seems to make any salad much more delicious.

Jacket potato with 25g of cheese and a (small) pat of butter is surprisingly low calorie. You can keep it under 250 cals if you weigh everything out and don't cheat.

Agree with pp that a jacket potato isn’t high calorie (medium sized one is only about 130 calories) and you could have it with things like tuna, beans, salad etc.

If you are at home then stir fried green beans, garlic, ginger, courgette and carrot ribbons and peppers with soy sauce and finely chopped chicken breast (I use about 1/4) with a drizzle of soy and sweet chilli sauce is nice for a change.

Stir-fry, with lots of veg & chicken or prawns.
Vary the herbs & spices to make it french, italian, whatever. Very low-cal & a different meal every day.

I try to avoid bread most of the time unless I particularly fancy it, & definitely avoid wraps, as they pack an awful lot of calories in. Instead I usually eat a small amount of quinoa, lentils, barley & spelt etc as "whole" grain carbs. They make a salad (hot or cold) much more interesting & filling. Include some healthy fats (nuts, olives, avocado or seeds), protein, & a decent portion of mixed veg, usually raw, & it doesn't feel so much like a salad.

I also like to do a lot of vegetables baked together with a piece of fish (skin side up) or chicken, & some quinoa in a oven dish. As long as there's enough liquid in there (usually in the veg, I don't usually add much), & the grains are in the base if the dish & not exposed on the top, it works really well. Really easy to vary the flavours & veg - soy sauce & Chinese spices, or Mediterranean spices & veg, or harissa & a bit of preserved lemon, or tarragon & a splash of white wine. It takes a bit of prep time but then I just chuck it in the oven. Usually good cold the next day too, so I often make double.

For breakfast I usually stick to about 250-300 cals - gives me a bit more room later in the day for lunch & dinner.
