Ice cream maker problems, please help!

So I've just unpacked my new Lakeland ice cream maker in preparation to freeze the bowl, and the bowl has this weird white powdery stuff around the rim, a bit like fake snow. I'll try to attach a picture, but I'm just wondering if it's safe. Obviously I'll wash it out but is the bowl still safe to use?

Is it the type that has a disc in the bottom that you freeze? I have one of those and a few years ago the disc burst and that was basically what was inside. I'd contract them about replacing (possibly Lakeland have fab customer service)

Hmm I wouldn't use it til the manufacturer had seen a picture of it.
Looks like solved of the sealant has leaked out.
Send a message and photo Lakeland. I suspect they'll replace it for you.

You freeze the entire bowl as far as I know Always, I can't see a disc.

Okay I'll contact Lakeland, not very hopeful about getting a response today or tomorrow but I'll let you know.

Lakeland have said that it's just leftover stuff from the manufacturing process and should be fine once wiped out with a warm, damp cloth. Full steam ahead with the ice cream! Thank you Always and Hey
