Years and years - why?!

It just gets more vintage as it gets older!

i need to use some in a recipe the only bottle i have was opened about 6 years ago!!! don't want to have to buy a new botle just for this recipe as don't normally drink it! it hasn't been in the fridge - does that matter?

Just asked DP who works for a company that make brandy and he says ages and ages so I think it will be fine.

No, you don't need to refrigerate spirits. The brandy will be OK but it does tend to lose its flavour as the years roll on. We don't drink brandy, ours is used for the Christmas cake and pudding and little else and we keep a bottle for years - it doesn't go off.

It's lovely with champagne, but totally lethal.
