Potato dish suggestion

I'm cooking roast duck for eight on NYE and serving it with parsnip puree and a green vegetable. I can't decide what potato dish to serve with it. Any suggestions? The parsnip puree is a Diana Henry recipe and it's creamy. If I don't serve potatoes in some form there'll be protests so that's not an option!

Dauphinois

Thanks for the suggestion. I've discounted Dauphinoise due to the parsnip puree being creamy as the whole thing could be rather heavy. We're having leg of lamb on New Year's Day and I was thinking of serving that then.

hasselback? Or we thinly slice potatoes into rounds and lay them (overlapping a bit) into a buttered baking tray and dot with a bit more butter then roast so you get round thin chips...

I agree dauphinois would be too creamy and rich. Why not roast potatoes or parmentier as already suggested. I would have said mash but you already have the puree.

Why not baby new potatoes, served with butter melted over them and some chopped chives?

Would boulangere work as that’s the same idea as dauphinois but stock based so not creamy?

Thanks ladies - I'm going to go with Parmentier for the colour and texture.

A send vote (if you change your mind) for hassleback potatoes, surprisingly simple but impressive looking. Easily sliced between two wooden spoon handles. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, brush with melted butter/olive oil and add any spices/herbs you like.
