Nice vegan cheese for cheese board?

I have become dairy intolerant about 6 months ago so looking for some recommendations of vegan cheeses that are nice on a cracker? I’ve not tried any vegan cheeses, not even in cooking - my friend is vegan and she has previously put me off by telling me all vegan cheese is rank. But I really want to have some cheese and crackers over Xmas Sad

Sainsbury's Wensleydale with cranberries is quite nice. Yumbles is a website that sells vegan cheese hampers which are delicious but pricey

Hi! I'm not a fan of any vegan cheeses to be honest :/ I've never bothered trying any as they do smell weird and look gross. Can't comment on the taste obviously but I'm 90% dairy free too and wouldn't bother with them! Maybe look up some reviews on YouTube? Xx

I'm a lifelong vegan, violife is good, as is tesco smoked and asdas chive. Sheese spreadable is nice and you can get a few different ones in holland and barret.

Are you sure you can't have cheese? I'm pretty lactose intolerant but fine with cheese. Because of the processing methods there's very little lactose left in cheese, especially hard cheeses.

Vegan cheese is rank, I'm sorry! Nasty, greasy, highly processed. Maybe passable with other things but certainly no good for enjoying on its own.

I'm not vegan but I've got a vegan friend and I made a cauliflower vegan cheese that was ok with just the standard cheddar-sub, and I scoffed some bits while cooking and didn't really like it. BUT while at her house I got through a whole packet of this and liked it - I think the added chilli/jalapeno changes it considerably. So if you're ok with spicy I'd give this a try. www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/295348575

Vegan cheese is rank.

I'm lactose intolerant but can tolerate goats cheese (it has less lactose than cow's milk). Try that?

Maybe get other things that are nice on/withcrackers - dips like hummus or pâté of some sort.

tyne cheese is very nice, but I've just looked at the website and you won't be able to get any in time for Christmas. I got a vegan food magazine last week that had recipes for making your own cheese - it didn't look too complicated, just a bit time consuming.

If you are lacto rather than dairy intolerant - goats cheese or sheep cheese, or lacto-free (the brand) cheese should be fine for you. Also as PP says, the harder the shhese the better it is for lacto-intolerance. Something to do with the % of fat and how that binds to the lactose and makes it harder to process in soft cheese.

Vegan cheese is pretty hanging
Better off with olive tapenade or mushroom pate

I'm dairy free at the moment for my CMPA daughter. Vegan cheese is dreadful. I miss cheese loads!

Violife have actually brought out a vegan cheeseboard - I saw it in Morrisons at the weekend.

Vegan cheese is the devil's smegma. All of it.

Hmm ok. Might try the jalapeño one as I like spices. But the general consensus seems to be that it is indeed rank 😩
I don’t know if I am lactose intolerant or what exactly sets it off, I just know that since cutting out dairy my stomach pains, reflux and awful epigadtric bloating has stopped and returned with a vengeance when I ate a curry that had paneer in. I was I’ll and unable to eat normal again for over a week, so I’m very reluctant to try anything now in case I set it off again.

Really, it's vile. It's not like cheese at all and is basically inedible imho.

It's not rank.. I'm not vegan (vegetarian) but eat it from time to time - usually when on offer as it's more expensive. Cheese is my favourite food!

Nutcrafter Creamery, but it’s 2019 for that now.
