Best containers for freezing meals and how to heat?

Hi my friends having a C section 2 days after Christmas. Her partner is vegetarian but she's not, but because he does most of the cooking she eats mostly veggie but really enjoys coming to mine or going out for a meal and eating meat.

I want to cook her a few meals I can freeze and she can take out and heat up. Sausage casserole, chilli, spaghetti Bolognese, lasagne, chicken curry. Are the foil and cardboard trays best or plastic tubs with lids? Obvs you can't put the foil ones in the microwave but can you with the plastic or do you need to let defrost.

I can actually cook I just never usually freeze things as there's never leftovers with my lot.

P.S. her partner is happy for her to have meat in the house, he is veggie for health reasons rather than ethical reasons but as he's the main cook they generally both eat veggie.

You can pick up the plastic takeaway containers in pound shops and they go in the dishwasher and can be reused. What a lovely friend you are doing this!

I use takeaway containers.

To reheat it is defrost overnight in fridge, into a microwave safe container and zap.

Freezer to microwave tubs.

I use clip lock. I have no idea whether that's the right thing to do.

I use the tinfoil ones for a lot of this and put them in the oven frozen. Usually stick them into the oven at the same time I turn it on. Might not be ideal for someone wanting something quickly, but it always works for us as there's no turning, stirring, defrosting etc. Take out of freezer, turn on oven, set time for 35 minutes and bang, it's done.
