Wheat free vegetarian buffet ideas

I'm having vegetarian friends over for a buffet before Christmas. One of them is also wheat intolerant. Does anyone have any ideas what I can serve?

I've thought of a (vegetarian) cheese board with oat biscuits and dips with crudités and that's about it. Any ideas gratefully received.

@Ricekrispie22 my preference is cold finger food, but could do hot, with knife and fork if it meant it was tastier and something people would like.

Samosas are a good idea. Thinking about it bhajis are usually gram flour, so I'll check out the ingredients on some of the Indian party food that's out. I wonder if wonton/spring roll wrappers are usually wheat free.

Are they definitely only wheat intolerant and not gluten intolerant/coeliac?

There are gluten free crackers inall the supermarkets these days. We use ASDAs own brand which are nice, schars (again in most supermarkets are good too).

JusRol do a gluten free puff pastry which could be used for mini cheese rolls etc

I've not found any widely available gluten free spring roll type things so far but there's loads of gf pitta breads / corn wraps etc for wraps or sandwiches. We like the B free pitta breads (we also use them to make mini pizzas) and the wharburtons gf wraps.

Be aware that oat biscuits aren’t necessarily gluten free. If it’s just wheat intolerance then you might be okay.

Tesco are doing mushroom arancini bites this year that are gf so check those out. A lot of crisps are wheat free but you have to check every bag’s allergy info.

Hummus also goes down well. Make sure with any dips though that there’s either a separate wheat free one if they’re sensitive as people will poke non wheat free bread in them!

The reason oats aren’t gluten free unless they specifically say gf is due to cross-contamination with wheat during harvesting/processing. Basically it’s the same machinery. So it depends how intolerant to wheat they are.
