I am tempted when someone says 'I have a chicken and some peppers what should I make?' to reply by saying 'make some chicken with some peppers' but I never do.

Maybe photos should be mandatory to see what the final dish was like

'curly fucking kale' - is that like purple sprouting broccoli?

Report
Ladymuck · 20/06/2007 13:27

Can you get uncurly kale?

Ahem - I asked for some ideas for some red onion relish and used the ideas MNetters gave me and had a lovely warm relish for my organic turkey sauages....so there!

do you konw, I can't get pot noodles any more, not even at the Britannia "delicatessen". Whichi should be called the Britannia Lard and Pastry Artery Clogging Emporium. But they do do Fox's fancy biscuits in a big tin and packets of Angel Delight so it's not all bad.

there was a sign up in sainsbo's last year: about a national lard shortage

(i phoned up the bbc's business correspondent, natch, to let him know)

I once saw a pretty well padded woman in Tescos Colney Hatch examining studiously the nutriional statistics of a home brand block of lard and that of a leading manufacturer. Not much in it, I'd wager

Colney Hatch? Didn't he go to school with Boris Johnson?

Report
bundle · 20/06/2007 13:47

aaaahhhh colney hatch

next to that other idyll, clowntown

actually the last time we went to that tesco's dh asked a huge built-like-a-brick-shithouse type of guy in a 4x4 car why his engine was running when he was sitting there waiting presumably for his girlfriend.

I hid (assuming violence was about to ensue)

dh tried explaining about global warming and carbon footprints..the big guy replied:

We all gotta die sometime, man

suzywong · 20/06/2007 13:49

SNORT @ image of your dh George Weber-esque explaining carbon footprints!

F'ckn clowntown. Shudder.

God, I miss tesco's seriously.
