Can I use frozen fish in a traybake?

I've recently discovered the wonders of the traybake... so easy to throw together after the school run. Healthy too!

I want to get more fish into our diet... can I use something like frozen cod in a traybake?
I'd buy fresh but it's so expensive and I have 5 mouths to feed.
Anyone got a good recipe?

Or any other traybake recipes?

Why not try some other cheaper fish too like coley, pollock and basa?

I'll definitely start trying some new fish. I'll admit I'm not very adventurous when it comes to fish/seafood (I've never even tried a prawn, I can't bring myself to eat it!)

I had some mackerel the other week and I found it edible but a bit too 'fishy' for my taste.
I can just about tolerate salmon if it's flavoured well.
Hence my reasons for choosing cod

The ones I mentioned have mild flavours - similar to cod - but are just cheaper
Maybe challenge yourself to try a new type each month?

Yes of course, just adjust the cooking time. Ice lands frozen chicken portions are fine too X

Yes, I have done so but the texture often isn't as good as fresh and cheap frozen fish can be a bit wet. It still works though.

Yes you can! The fish fillets or portions can go straight from the freezer into the oven once you know how to do it. The result is perfectly cooked fish every time.

Yes absolutely - I almost always use frozen fish in tray bakes unless it is for 'company'

Just remember you veg will take longer than the fish, so put that in part way through.
