Nibbles/canapé suggestions

We've got friends coming over next week for drinks and nibbles, but it'll basically be in place of dinner. I'm tempted to buy a load in from Cook but before I spend a fortune does anyone have suggestions for easy to prepare (or can be made ahead) nibbles that will fill my guests up? Thanks!

Blinis are always a good start especially with Onuga instead of proper caviar.

Thanks all! I think I'll do a mix of homemade and shop bought stuff. Cheese and cold meats are good ideas. I had forgotten about sweet stuff too!
