Help me compile a list of ideas of 'substantial' snack for my 12 and 14 yo

Cheese on toast
Cereal
Spaghetti hoops on toast

Err... stuck

Going back to work full time and won't be here when they get in from school. Want to put a list inside the kitchen cupboard for inspiration for them...

Tia

I scrambled eggs in a dish the microwave recently. I realise I'm late to the 20th century let alone the 21st but it was nice and easy with no pan to clean.

My kids will always make a ham or cheese and salad sandwich. They also eat hummous with toast or crackers.

Oh and the eldest does fish fingers too.

Have you got a sandwich toaster?
Is this their evening meal or just to tide them over until dinner?

porridge in the microwave
cheese and crackers
pot of yogurt and fruit

they will probably just buy doughnuts and crisps on the way home from school

Mine would eat crisps and biscuits if they were kept in the house.

Mine do buy junk stuff at times but they give in to hunger and make sarnies TOO! They can eat quite a quantity at that age.

Flour tortillas - mine used to eat them on their own or as a wrap with cheese and ketchup.
Flapjacks
I bought a George Foreman type grill which was much used by both as teens and eventually taken off to uni.
Crumpets.

What time do you eat dinner? Mine usually have fruit or crisps after school if anything at all but they have dinner at 5.30. I'd find things were some veg or salad can be put in of possible. Salad and chicken roll? Dd has tomato, mozzarella, pesto and salad rolls if she is really hungry after schoool.

Thank you. Yes do have sandwich toaster... good idea.

It's just to tide them over til dinner. But don't them them having crisps and biscuits every day... you need to eat a lot of them before you feel full.

Noodles would also go done well with them. Thanks

15 year old ds1 is always hungry! For after school, in the end I stopped buying crisps/biscuits and replaced them with tea cakes, hot cross buns, bagels, scones and fruit - he eats them happily when there is nothing else on offer!
