I have fussy kids. They want to eat constantly, but only really want to eat rubbish!
The school hols are upon us now, and they’re likely to eat me out of house and home in the first day! What do you give your kids for lunch/snacks? I’m happy to bake/cook a bit. But supermarket alternatives would be welcome!

Would they eat fruit if it was prepped to seem more attractive? My 12 year old rarely picks up an apple to eat but if I core and segment one with one of those ikea things he is all over it.

Snackwise he eats toast, crumpets, crackers and cheese, that kind of thing. I also boil eggs, six at a time and have them in a bowl in the fridge for everyone to grab.

We stick mainly with fruit and veg snacks.
Fortunately carrot and cucumber sticks go down well. If they don’t eat them plain try various dips, salsa, beetroot and mint, cream cheese etc.
Things like melon, pineapple, watermelon slices are good in summer.
Lunch I’m not v inventive with.
Usually either wraps, bagels, pita, sandwiches or toasties etc
Mix things up with fillings and salad.
Sometimes might do a tuna pasta salad, ploughman’s, frittata, bruschetta, etc
Basically whatever is quick and easy.
Other non fruit and veg snacks
Popcorn
Roasted chick peas
Homemade pita chips
Savoury flapjack
Cheese scones, cheesestraws basically anything I’ve baked.
Frozen frubes or ice lolly’s
Rice cakes

For breakfast I try to make sure they have lots of protein and fibre to fill them up, so if they have toast it's with peanut butter/scrambled eggs/baked beans and a smoothie.
Lunch might be a baked potato with cheese/tuna mayo/baked beans/left-over chilli or pitta bread pizzas. They like soup with croutons, but it's too hot for that at the moment! They also like bagels with cream cheese and pastrami, wraps with leftover roast chicken and salad, and pitta bread with humous.
For snacks they have frubes (straight out of the freezer in this weather!) and we've just bought some lolly moulds and have made our own fruit juice lollies. I'm also hoping to make these banana pops with them over the holidays.
