Buffet ‘on sticks’ ideas

foodiemama26 · 27/06/2018 14:08

I’m having a garden party in a couple of days and want some ideas for nibbles that I can put on sticks for easy eating. I’m happy to do some retro cheese and pineapple but I was hoping for some more inspiration too! Even better if they can be made ahead of time.

Cherry tomato’s and mini mozzarella balls, with bit of basil at either end and drizzle of pesto is delicous.
Chicken satay sticks,
Cubes of Spanish tortilla,
Strawberries and grapes
Cucumber sliced longwise, with cream cheeses spread inside then rolled up.
Grilled Auberine sliced lengthwise with bit of red pesto spread inside.
All easy and quick but look decent.

stuffed apricots.

Dried apricots, brie and streaky bacon.

Soak the apricots in water, they will fluff up and have an opening, put a small piece of brie in, wrap in a half rasher of bacon, secure with a cocktail stick and put in the oven for 10 mins - can be eaten hot or cold.

Olives, cherry tomatoes, boiled quails' eggs, fruit such as melon or grapes.

Asparagus tips, wrapped in parma ham.

Lay the ham out, 'butter' with dijon mustard and wrap the ham around the tips, again 10 mins in oven.

Brie with mango chutney wrapped in filo pastry.

Brie in chunks.

small rolls of ham or make a roulade with ham and cream cheese. Other cooked meat rolled up. Chicken nuggets or goujons.
small cakes.

Mini meatballs made using sausage meat and adding a few spices.

bits of fruit such as grapes put in an ice cube tray, put in the cocktail stick add water and freeze.

Brie wrapped in ham.

I don't have a brie obsession, Tesco once delivered 2Kg instead of 2 pieces so I went through a stage of brie with everything.

MinaPaws

Try it, it's really simple and it can be left to cool and taken to work. If you buy the 'continental' platter from the supermarket you can do it with all the hams.
