Can I freeze pasta salad?

Sorry if this seems like a daft question, DS's (19m) childminder has decided to switch to pack-lunches from next month. He isn't great at eating sandwiches (just pulls them apart) but tend to do quite well with pasta, so was planing making little tubs of pasta salad. It seems a waste to boil 2 tablespoons worth of pasta every night so I was wondering if I could make big batches to freeze and move a tub to the fridge the night before?

The alternative would be to keep it in the fridge but wasn't sure how long it would last, and would mean having the same type for a few days in a row. Whereas if I could freeze it I could make a few flavours (tuner & sweetcorn / ham & cream cheese / Cheese & tomato) to alternate between.

Would it be alright to eat cold once defrosted? or does defrosted pasta need to be heated to stop food poisoning?
