Chutney

I'm about to make some date & rhubarb chutney & managed to get some date paste to use instead of dates I hate stoning them

Would I use the same weight of paste that I would use with dates?

If you are weighing the dates before stoning them I'd drop the weight of paste by about 10%.

Chutney is pretty OK about changing amounts of stuff, I find.

I'd also taste the date paste, as if it is sweeter than dates you might want to drop the amount of sugar you use.
