What do you make on Sunday's?

I'm wondering what everyone makes for dinner on a Sunday? I was wondering if anyone has any traditions ? Sunday roast etc.

Well I made a big chicken curry tonight. Fed five of us and enough left over to do a few lunch portions next week.

Last Sunday we had roast pork, crackling, apple sauce, the lot though. We have a joint maybe every other weekend but don't always have it in the traditional British way: lamb I might do slow cooked with Middle Eastern spices or chicken with a peri peri rub.

We pretty much always have a brunch which keeps us going through until our roast at 5:30. I love Sundays

I I always cook something special, but hardly ever a roast dinner. Breakfast though HAS to be egg and soldiers - every Sunday

Most Sundays I cook two roast chickens and use the meat for curries and sandwiches.

I roast - pretty much religiously- from September to April. I think my DH and DD wouldriot if I didn’t roast. Oh, and it can’t be a nice slow roasted shoulder of lamb with flageolet beans, dauphionose potato and jus- no it has to have roast potatoes, Stuffing and shit loads of Yorkshire Puddings . They complain vociferously about how cheated they feel,so it’s really not worth it.
May- September though we often bbq - but with a whole spatchcocked chicken or butterflied leg of lamb. Lots of salads, homemade quiche, or a piece of slow roasted/ bbq shoulder of pork. It’s still the best meal of the week in this house.
If it’s cold in the summer I may do a toad in the hole, sausage and mash or the shoulder of lamb ( see above) which I am denied in winter. I’m hoping that 5his thread gets lots of posts to give me some ideas!

Summer tends to be lighter meals which don't involve using the oven.

I do roasts regularly & roast potatoes are obligatory, my lot are carnivorous and will eat any meat. But also do a variety of other things, did a fish pie yesterday, do curries, pies, paella and pork ribs, sometimes if I don’t fancy cooking I’ll do a big fry up or ham, egg & chips. Probably the family’s favourite Sunday meal is turkey and ham pie, made with frozen meat left over from Christmas, I usually do it on a miserable day in February to cheer us all up.

I am on srrike with Sunday roasts until everyone starts helping with the cooking.. we have not had one for 4 weeks and i'm not budging. We had pasta and pesto last Sunday! 😣

I've got into the habit recently of making a roast on Sundays. We have it for late lunch then don't need much dinner. The kids also love roast dinners which is a bonus!

We go to the local deli or coffee shop for Sunday brunch. No one is a fan of roast or big Sunday lunch.

This makes me sad we don’t do roasts as we live in California and I’m vegan so it’s just not our tradition in the same way as it was mine growing up

Roasted Chicken! It's very traditional in my family especially on sunday's because usually sunday's are family day. :)

Whatever I feel like cooking, Sunday makes no difference. Depends what I have in, if I've been shopping or not, if we've been out, if I can be bothered, loads of factors.
I'm really surprised how many people have a roast dinner every week as a matter of course.

I'm often at work Sunday evening so it's usually a ready meal for one.

If I am home in the evening though I will quite often cook or roast or toad-in-hole, provided I've not got other food that needs cooking up before it goes off.

We do a roast usually, gammon and a very tiny beef. The bairns won’t eat beef so it’s just for me and DP. Roast tatties, mash, various veg, Yorkshires if I can be arsed and gravy.
